Consultant Capital Raiser
CIP was founded by two UHNW investors to better facilitate their sourcing, screening and direct investing in disruptive, SaaS based tech businesses as they begin their global expansion.
Our aim is to build the leading specialist angel investment network in the UK. We intend to deliver industry leading returns to our investors and generate significant capital value for CIP’s shareholders.
i. The founders, Andrew Jenkins and Jeremy Middleton CBE, share 20 years of experience in building, advising and funding high growth businesses. Andrew sourced and financed Mimecast, now one of the top performing stocks on NASDAQ with a market cap of around $2 billion. Jeremy, the founder of HomeServe, a FTSE 250 business, heads up a multimillion family office successfully investing in a concentrated portfolio of public and private companies.
iii. CIP typically invest in between 2 to 4 ‘Conviction’ portfolio companies a year, with the intention of doing an annual raise for each every 12 to 18 months.
iv. Typical investments range from $5-$10m per transaction, therefore $20-$40m is invested each year.
Some of CIP’s successful exits include Mimecast and iZettle. Currently, the syndicate is invested in two “Conviction” portfolio companies, Adepto and Oradian, where CIP acts as lead investor and both founders committed their personal capital. There are further smaller investments in 10 “Incubator” companies which have the potential to be elevated to the “Conviction” portfolio.
CIP’s offices are split between Newcastle and London. Newcastle serves as a base for the research team and London team is focused on raising capital. Our London office is located at number WeWork, Marlyebone.
The role of Consultant Capital Raiser is to help raise the capital requirements of the business. Working with the existing shareholders he/she will develop and grow the network of introducers and high net worth investors to deliver the businesses $20-40m of fresh capital required each year.
A successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in raising large amounts of capital for VC and/or PE companies from a combination of UHNWs, Family Offices and institutions. The Candidate will be comfortable working in a highly entrepreneurial environment with a flexible schedule and office space.
The primary role of consultant capital raiser is gaining direct client investment. The Candidate will have an extensive network of UHNW and Family Office investors that he/she can introduce to directly co-invest alongside the founders and other investors.
The consultant will be expected to raise significant capital for every upcoming deal and manage their time efficiently in raising.
Consultants will have two tiers of compensation:
i. Competitive day rate
ii. Commission directly related to level of funds raised
In addition there will be opportunities to invest directly in high growth deals that are a feature of the Conviction proposition.
The consultant will manage their own time and will be judged by their results.
